Santeria is about putting your life on the right path; about discovering the true nature of your being, and providing you with the guidance and spiritual tools necessary to live the fullest, richest life possible. It's an ancient and powerful system of spiritual thought and ritual born on the West coast of Africa, carried across the dreaded Middle Passage to the New World in the hearts of slaves and nourished on the lush Caribbean islands of (among others) Cuba, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and, in the form of Macumba and Candomble, in Brazil. In these far away places the rich and complex spirit religion evolved, and today, it thrives.

Santeria is based upon the ritual communion with and service of the great Orishas--the primal, powerful ancestral deities of the Yoruba and Bantu peoples. The Orishas embody every force of nature and human venture--every dealing, emotion or situation is suffused and empowered by the ashe (spiritual energy) of one or more Orishas. The Orishas compose the very fabric of our Universe, embodying and empowering it on all levels--spiritually and materially. Developing a relationship with the Orishas opens you to their guidance, protection and intervention. Love, honor, respect, study, service and initiation (combined with frequent communication through divination) are the threads that compose the rich fabric from which this relationship is woven.
